The College of Pharmacy at Mustansiriyah University is an esteemed institution, established in 1999 as the College of Industrial Pharmacy under the University of Baghdad. Later, it was transferred to Mustansiriyah University and renamed the College of Pharmacy. The first academic session commenced in the 2000/2001 academic year.

At the heart of its mission, the College of Pharmacy aims to produce graduates equipped with advanced scientific skills in pharmacy, enabling them to stay updated with the latest developments in drug development. These graduates go on to provide top-notch services to guide patients towards a better quality of life.


The College of Pharmacy has long been recognized for its excellence in higher education. This esteemed position is the result of years of perseverance and teamwork by our exceptional faculty, staff, and students. Their collective efforts have consistently produced graduates who are among the best and brightest in the field, ready to provide high standards of pharmaceutical care.

Regarding the College’s scientific staff, the college has, and continues to support its academic and non-academic staff in achieving their goals and developing their skills.

At the core of the college’s research endeavors are diverse fields, including clinical studies, epidemiology, molecular pharmacology, drug delivery, and drug design. These areas of focus underscore the college’s commitment to addressing critical healthcare challenges and advancing pharmaceutical sciences for the betterment of society.

In 2010, the college introduced post-graduate studies (Master of Science). Upon completion, graduates can earn an M.Sc. in Pharmacy Sciences, Pharmacology and Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. In addition in 2017 a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacy sciences was established. Also the college introduced M.Sc. program in Pharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacy for the year 2024-2025.

Additionally, the College of Pharmacy publishes a scientific journal. Through academic achievement and research. The combined dedication and efforts of the college leadership and staff led to the award of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) international accreditation.
